Solo Singletrack Trail Riding | Amazing Scenic Views | Techno Trail - Cottonwood Valley, NV

In this quick video, I'm riding a short black diamond trail in the Cottonwood Valley trail region of Nevada. This region is about 30 mins from the Las Vegas Strip. This trail is only 1.3 miles in length. I think many people avoid this trail because it is labeled as a black diamond on Trailforks. It's really not clear to me why this trail considered a black diamond. There are a few technical spots, but nothing that caused me to get stuck and/or have to walk over (and I'm no expert rider!) There are several ways to get to this trail. See the Trailforks link below for map. The easiest an quickest way to get to the trail is climbing the Badger Pass Trail which is a green/easy trail (although I got to this trail from the 3 Mile Smile Trail as shown in the beginning of this video).

FOR VIDEO NERDS: I know I haven't published a video in some time. However, I have been working on two intense videos since Oct. When I shoot for a video, I need certain conditions with wind and clouds. Clear blue skies don't have that awe factor. Skies that are too cloudy are too washed out. Then the drone and wind is another story... Since Sept there have been very view days when I was free to ride and the weather was good. This is the first video I've published where I'm using the Insta 360 One R with One Inch lens module instead of the standard 4K module. I've been shooting for several months with this camera though . You can probably see that the chest camera video is bit more HDR defined than the 4K module and it should be with this lens. One problem with this lens is that it sticks out about 1/4 inch further than the 4K module lens. Even though the One Inch lens has a wider viewable area, sticking out this small amount ends up cropping the video less wide than the 4K module. Also, I was finally able to create some custom LUTS to color match the chest cam footage and drone footage. It's not perfect yet, but we are getting there!

TRAILHEAD: I parked at the Late Night Trail head which is located on NV-160 in the Spring Mountains area (Red Rock Canyon/Blue Diamond). This trailhead is very popular by locals and tourists. This is a huge parking area with access to 2 dozen trails for both mountain biking, hiking and horse back riding. There are bathroom facilities and parking for large vehicles such as RVs.

** As of 10/22 there were several vehicle break ins in this parking area. Do not leave any expensive items visible in your vehicle or you are an easy target. **
