This short documentary provides a rare behind-the-scenes look at how Becker Marine Systems designed, manufactured and installed a unique flap rudder in just six months. The biggest challenges here were for sure the tight schedule, incomplete and mostly hand-drawn plans from the 1970s, and close coordination with many other rebuilds on site in dock. The success speaks for itself. The schedule was met and the retro cruise ship MS Amera, formerly Prinsendam, has now become a modern, efficient and, above all, agile cruise ship - capable of carrying thousands of passengers across the world's oceans fast, safely and efficiently even in difficult weather conditions for many years to come.
