This is a seldom seen Schoenner 100/15 dampfmaschine steam engine vertical type model ca1900 in good original condition.

The Schoenner 100 vertical model series consisted of several boiler sizes from 7-15cm diameter, and this is an example of the largest size with a 15cm diameter boiler. This large Schoenner includes a 3-jet gas burner heating element that is mounted on the cast metal base and would have been fueled by the household natural gas of the day. Some 100/15 engines included boiler feed pumps, but this example has no sign of ever being fitted with one. This 100/15 engine runs smoothly at high and low speeds on air pressure, but it has a repairable slight leak where the flue/stack exits the top of the boiler that would need to be addressed before running on live steam. Overall, an imposing vertical type steam engine and a very good example of an early Schoenner design.
