After 24 hours of non-stop travel, I finally landed in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, a stunning country nestled at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, known for its rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and unique mix of modern life and Soviet-era history.

This was my very first time setting foot in Georgia, and the journey was exhausting but unforgettable. From delayed flights to long layovers, I pushed through it all to bring you an unfiltered look at Tbilisi on day one. Was it worth the hype? Is Georgia as beautiful and welcoming as people say?

Tbilisi is the capital of the country of Georgia. Its cobblestoned old town reflects a long, complicated history, with periods under Persian and Russian rule. Its diverse architecture encompasses Eastern Orthodox churches, ornate art nouveau buildings and Soviet Modernist structures. Looming over it all are Narikala, a reconstructed 4th-century fortress, and Kartlis Deda, an iconic statue of the “Mother of Georgia.
