In this video I am taking you step-by-step through my process in creating a loose oil painting of two glazed donuts.
The focus is not getting lost in details, but painting just enough to give the viewer the impression of looking at donuts. Therefore we focus on the bigger picture.
❓If you have any questions or requests, I'd love to read about it in the comments. Please know that my materials are mentioned at the bottom of this text.

🖼️The surface I’m painting on is a small MDF panel by the brand “Muspaneel”. They are very smooth, so I always add a layer of gesso on it with. This creates some extra “tooth” and a lovely texture! After that, I put a thin layer/wash of burnt sienna acrylic paint, just to get the white off.
👨🎨The paint I use is a special oil paint (Cobra, from Royal Talens) which you can thin by using water instead of spirits. Other than that, it's the same as regular oil paint.
🖌️ For brushes I use the cobra brand brushes, and for smaller sizes I use Mus brushes.
🎨 On the palette for this painting:
titanium white
yellow ochre
pyrrole red
burnt sienna
ultramarine blue
phtalo green
