Beating the game requires rescuing all 124 deedees and repairing all 43 machines. The machine counts, in order of the in-game level select clockwise, are 1-2-1-2 (6), 1-2-1-2 (6), 1-1-1-2 (5), 1-1-0-1 (3), 2-2-2-2 (8), 2-2-0-2 (6), 1-1-0-0 (2), 1-2-2-2 (7). All levels except 7-3 have deedees to rescue. After these two criteria have been met, you can show the ending cutscene by pressing B on the machine in the hubworld. This only works in version 1.1, as 1.0 doesn't let you play the cutscene, regardless of deedee or machine count.
