Discovered by accident, Marco uncovered a car that had not been touched for 30 years and experts said the engine needed a rebuild. How little did they know. We spend a couple days cleaning up and testing components. We found that in the 90s the previous owner had fitted a brand new clutch, new tyres and but never used them. The tank was rotten and the floors badly repaired, There was evidence of a professional re upholster.
The heritage certificate confirms it was one of the last 100 Series 1 cars produced. Some of the parts were already from the soon to be released Seres 2. This car is an original Right Hand Drive, approximately No 1,500 of a production run of 1,583. Note the open headlights that help identify it as a late Series 1.
We are going to do more research on its history which seems to originate in Yorkshire. The car was produced in Opalescent Gold and Sand and repainted in Red. We have not yet decided whether to repaint the car in its original livery
