Хуа Чен примерно за сотню лет до начала канона, нашел рядом с горой тунлу странный артефакт, непредусмотрительно дотронувшись до неизвестного артефакта он вырубился, успев лишь кое-как изменить свою внешность, а очнувшись обнаружил себя в детском теле с запечатанными силами. Так и встретился с Юэ Ци и попал к семье Цю. Все это время он пытался связаться с черноводом и как то разблокировать свои способности. В Ло Бин-ге он увидел себя в детстве, а так же сразу понял что он не человек. Поэтому воспитывал в строгости, зная с чем ему придется столкнуться. В водной тюрьме же его попытки увенчались успехом, силы вернулись, и он с помощью призрачных бабочек вернулся в призрачный город. А дальше по канону.
