I received my AuxFi WiFi device for Celestron mounts from Astro-Gadget. It did take 2-3 weeks to arrive after ordering. I made this video showing how to connect to it, do an alignment, and use SkySafari on an iPad to control the telescope.
I tried connecting 6 times and each time it connected perfectly. I have only tested it inside so I will report back on an actual outside test and how far away I can be and still control it. Inside I tried it from 30 feet away and it stayed connected and worked without any issues. I gave it a 60 minute trial and every 5 minutes slewed to a different object. I then opened the door and walked outside and was about 40 feet away (as far as I could go) and it stayed connected.
It seems a bit odd that it stands straight up when plugged in. Maybe it is designed like this for the antenna. But it is flexible and the telescope just pushes it out of the way if needed. And if I plug it into my AUX splitter it hangs down out of the way.
So far it seems like a good alternative to the Celestron WiFi device and is reasonably priced at $69.
