Ingredients for Gilani Garlic Stew (Sir Ghalieh):
Two bundles of fresh garlic leaves
Several pieces of chicken
One cup of split peas
Spices: salt, pepper, turmeric
6 eggs
Preparation Method:
Soak the split peas a few hours in advance.
After preparing the garlic leaves, fry them in a pan.
Add the eggs, then immediately season with turmeric and salt.
Once the eggs are nicely fried, add the pre-cooked split peas and fry them together again.
Then add the mixture to the pre-cooked chicken.
Let it simmer gently for about 20 minutes until the flavors blend.
If the chicken broth is too little, add some boiling water.
