5 Motorhome Must-Haves We Missed on Our First Trip (Shopping Didn’t Go to Plan!)

We’re back from our first proper motorhome trip to Ireland, and after such an amazing time on the road, we came home with a clear list of things we really wish we’d packed. In this video, we’re sharing the five motorhome must-haves we missed on our first trip and taking you with us as we try to get sorted for the next adventure.

We start inside the motorhome talking through what sparked this idea, including the kettle that saved the day at White Rocks when our battery wasn’t behaving, and the gas set-up that kept us going when we stopped off-grid. Gareth gives a full look at the gas bottles, connectors and hose, and shows why having a second bottle is now top of the list.

From there, we chat about power on the road and how the inverter helped with day-to-day essentials, including Gareth’s CPAP machine. We talk through a couple of moments in Ireland where we really felt the limitations of not having the right kit, especially when we stopped in those beautiful coastal spots.

Next, we head out to Camping International and Halfords to look for the items we still need, including sat-nav options for narrow roads and rural routes. The trip didn’t go quite how we expected, we didn’t find everything we hoped for, but that’s all part of the journey and why we’d love your recommendations.
