Russia SIGNALS Peace Talks on Ukraine, Pushes Back on Truce

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow remains open to serious peace talks on Ukraine but dismissed the idea of a ceasefire ahead of a full settlement, calling it “not serious.” His remarks come as reports suggest US officials close to President Donald Trump may seek talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

Lavrov said President Putin has repeatedly expressed willingness to engage in meaningful negotiations and added that it would be useful if Washington formally briefed Moscow on any new peace proposals. The comments underscore continuing divisions over how and when diplomacy could move forward in the nearly two-year-old Ukraine conflict.
