Pooja Mandir made by me and wife in USA.

here are some details about the mandir:
1. The base is made from the 3/4 inch melamine board measured to fit on Ikea cabinet https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/skruvby-...
2. Measured and built reverse drawer as pullout tray for Prasad and Aarti thali
3. Measured same size board for ceiling of the mandir out of 1/2 inch plywood (lighter than Melamine)
4. Measured equal distance from corner and added 4 pillars with screw inserted from bottom melamine and top plywood. You can walk in Home Depot or Lowes and find these pillars. They are used for staircases.
5. attached back panel with screws going inside the back pillars. This is very important to add structural strength to the Mandir.(https://www.homedepot.com/p/1-8-in-x-...)
6. Created a small raised box with the same material on top of the back panel for glowing 'OM'.
7. Bought this wooden OM chakra and marked the outline on the raised box and later was cut with 1/2 inch offset inside the outline marking. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C...)
8. Glued the 'OM' with gorrila glue and let it dry . Make sure you clamp it properly. Later I added 2 layers of butter paper behind the OM to diffuse the light from inside. I used Wiz RBGWW LED strip and half of it is arranged in circular manner behind the OM. The another half is attached on the ceiling portion of the mandir from inside making sure it is not visible to the eye. That way you will get nice glow and not the glare.
9. To finish off all the decoration buy the ornamental moulding from Home Depot and Amazon and attach it with wood glue and brad nails. Here take very precise measurements to get the best results.

10. The top crown was carved out of remaining melamine board. The design was drawn with help of some round objects such as plates, lids with premeasured markings to divide the area evenly.
11. The decorative pieces on the crown were ordered from Amazon and glued using wood glue.
12. Colored all the decorative mouldings with golden spray paint. Mask all the white areas properly and spray it in well ventilated area.
13. Screw down the mandir top to Ikea cabinet using 3 inch long screws and secure the Ikea cabinet to the wall with provided attachment. This is very important step as cabinet and mandir becomes very heavy and with Pooja thali drawer pulled out, the entire Mandir can tip over. I made sure it is very secure as I have 2 year old daughter playing near Mandir.
