In today’s video, I’m reacting to Dream Theater – “The Dance of Eternity.” I’ve heard people say this is one of the wildest instrumental tracks ever written… and yeah, they weren’t kidding. This thing is basically a masterclass in rhythm, virtuosity, and “wait, what time signature are we in again?” moments.
Coming from a jazz background, I love when musicians push the edges of groove and feel — but Dream Theater takes it to a whole other galaxy. I break down some of the sections that grabbed me, talk through the insane musicianship, and basically sit here in awe for most of the video.
