Surfski winter run Scotland Portobello to Gullane

Full on run from Portobello to Gullane , total distance 20Km , the run started straight off the beach at Portobello and continually built on the route.
Its a committed run and has some areas that throw up confused and challenging water, the forcast today was very much as predicted, sharp wind gusts, said to be 68Km an hour with 1.2m waves at 3 to 4 second intervals ( never a great interval on this run as its all wind driven )
There's three of us on the water so we keep each other in range ( not easy )
At around 19Km close to the final turn I managed to fall in off a wave , that certainly focused things as it was possibly the biggest conditions at that point. Remount was perfect other than a glitch with a wrist paddle leash as I was on the wrong side so decided to disconnect it.
Ill consider a pfd attachment or boat fixing in big conditions next time.
The Carbonology Sport Zest was flawless , effortlessly quick to jump onto a wave and ultra responsive to surf.
Its a full carbon Honeycomb construction so only around 9.5kg.
