Bobcat T190 - oil pump, oil sensor fun

My 2006 Bobcat T190 started shutting down due to low oil pressure conditions many months ago. After a lot of searching I decided to throw on a new Oil Pump which of course requires a whole lot of work. On the flip side, I maybe should have just thrown on a Bobcat Oil Pressure sensor (which this Bobcat did not have). It had a 3rd party version and I decided to try installing a new one (3rd party also).

This led to a whole lot of fun. I did manage to swap the Oil Pump for good measure since there were indications from my research that the amount of hours this machine has (3600hr+) that it may be time anyways. No way to really test it. In hind sight, I should have put a physical oil pressure gauge on it first! But I did not. Oh well, Oil pump swapping time. This took a bit of time - roughly 6 hrs-sh.

After the swap, I still retained my 3rd party sensor which showed only 26psi and my physical gauge showed 55-58psi. I did do an oil change and filter prior to this and all things looked great.

Well, almost. My keypad which has always given me trouble in turning on (sporadically) decided to really puke on my progress after all this work and it did not want to come alive easily. I decided to replace the panel which was a whopping $1200. However, after installing it, it literally transformed how the Bobcat worked. Really Nice. I got the panel from FINNEY EQUIPMENT AND PARTS which I found as a 3rd party vendor. Even Bobcat did not have this panel. I did contacted ISOCELL for a refurbish cost ($840) which isn't too far off $1200, plus they are giving me $150 for the old panel. YAY.

I went through a full test procedure on voltages on the 3rd party gauge as well as on a new Bobcat Oil Pressure switch since things were not showing the proper pressure. Turns out I accidentally purchased a Hydraulic Oil Pressure switch (6674316) which works at totally different pressures. After talking to Bobcat they offered a replacement to the proper Engine Oil Switch (6674315) which worked PERFECTLY! Whew!

I learned a few things, testing voltages on the oil pressure etc. Checking wiring and at the end it came down to a new oil pump and Bobcat Oil Pressure switch. The T190 is alive once again and running great!
