What Is Mahito's Purpose in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo?

In the recent chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo; we would come to find out many things about the future of the original story, for one; Tokyo has been completely overran by cursed spirits due to the propaganda spread by the governments across the world, Yuji Itadori still remains and is being sought after as a deterrent for the potential alien invasion to come, and maybe the most important reveal all things considered; is the confirmation that in some capacity or form, Mahito still exists. With Gege Akutami just showing Mahito outright instead of hinting towards him in some way or form, we can assume that he is likely going to come back into the story. Now, with us knowing this I have to ask, what will be his role in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo? We all know due to Mahito’s nature, he can’t be anything but a villain; but obviously there’s more to this than it seems. In this video I’ll be speculating about Mahito’s role as a villain in the story, and all the routes Gege could go with his character in the current setting of Modulo; if you enjoy content such as this, don’t forget to leave a like & subscribe and now, let’s get into it.

To begin this video, it’s important to give background on Mahito to connect him to the new series as honestly; I’ve already gotten many comments on my other videos questioning how Mahito can come back if he’s already been eliminated by Kenjaku; or about him not even being able to come back; just stuff like that. First, curses are created by the negative cursed energy that leaks out from everybody; this negative cursed energy can revolve around a fear of the ocean; resulting in a curse like Dagon being created, or the negative cursed energy that comes from hating someone; which results in something like Mahito being created. Even if the curse dies, those negative emotions will always be present in humans; allowing that curse to constantly be created in all shapes and forms. Mahito was shown to have died in Jujutsu Kaisen at the hands of Kenjaku, so another human malice curse could be created of course; but another thing that set Mahito apart from other curses was the fact that it was a curse that was made after human emotions; and thus, he was born with a fundamental understanding of the soul; and able to see the soul. The soul and understanding it plays a massive role in Jujutsu Kaisen. Not just the narrative but even it’s power system, an understanding of the soul is what has allowed the greatest sorcerers to cheat death and the world itself many times over and this should no exception to Mahito especially considering the fact that he can take his relationship with the soul a step further than everybody else and even manipulate it if he pleases. This, is more than likely why I think Mahito was able to cheat death in his own way, and keep his soul in tact even after death. My primary evidence for this is the fact that only the characters who have manipulated the soul or used it to cheat death have been shown in that black world that lies between life and death, as if they have a heightened awareness of life and death due to their taboo actions. I can speculate about this all day, but you get what I’m saying; basically, Mahito is a special case & more than likely able to return due to his knowledge of the soul, and all of his abilities that relate to the soul.
