An outstanding little kit that i will have hundreds of uses for. From cassette deck alignment to the model railway i'm currently working on, This kit uses a lot of tiny surface mount components.
Thing You Will Need:
A good quality 20w soldering iron with needle tip
Solder (leaded is best) DONT be tempted to buy cheap chinese orange labelled solder, it is garbage and needs much higher temps to melt (you will destroy the chips) I always use Silverline leaded or Weller.
My iron is 48w but has digital temperature control, don't turn up the temp too high, you will destroy these very small components. 290c works best for me with these kits.
Flux (optional but highly recommended)
Tweezers
Small Screwdriver
Third Hand With illuminated magnifying glass (highly recommended)
Good soldering skills
Ability to read and understand electronics schematic diagrams
Patience.
Alternatively you can use liquid solder and a hot air station instead of a soldering iron. I recommend EASYPRINT solder paste.
Start with the smallest parts first, as you progress there are test points to check your work with a multimeter.
I do not recommend this kit for beginners, amateurs should start with FM radio kits first to build up soldering skills and basic understanding of electronic components.
