The developer describes the game as:
A side-scrolling zombie survival sim where you lead a group of civilians through a collapsing city during a deadly outbreak. Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days blends real-time exploration, resource management, and psychological survival in a 1980s Texas setting. Scavenge, craft, and make tough choices as you move from shelter to shelter, keeping your group safe—physically and mentally.
You’ll explore one building at a time across Walton City, scavenging for supplies and avoiding the infected. Survivors have unique personalities, strengths, and mental states that impact your choices and outcomes. Combat is brutal and rare. Stealth is vital. And shelter is always temporary.
This is not a roguelike or action game—this is survival through realism, tension, and slow, thoughtful decision-making. In Early Access now with regular updates and a roadmap shaped by community feedback.
