Tanner Stephens - 2025 Deep Summer Crankworx Whistler

Submission for Crankworx Whistler's Deep Summer photo contest 2025. Tanner has been a racer, corporate worker, and now freelance photographer/producer. He grew up in the Bay Area east of San Francisco at the base of Mount Diablo. His first foray into photo was in middle school shooting 135 and 120 film, then took a hiatus from photos after starting racing downhill seriously where eventually he was able to get on a world cup team. While racing Crankworx Innsbruck downhill in 2018 he suffered a severe injury and went back to shooting photos for fun before eventually quitting his corporate job to dive into a career in photography and media projects as a rider.
