Professor Yan Xuetong is president of the Carnegie–Tsinghua Management Board and Dean of Tsinghua University’s Institute of Modern International Relations. He is editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of International Politics, serves as an adviser to several leading academic journals and is a member of the Consultation Committee of China’s Ministry of Commerce
His many books include, “Analysis of China’s National Interests,” “Ancient Chinese Thought, Modern Chinese Power,” and his latest “Leadership and the Rise of Great Powers,” which we will discuss in our conversation this morning.
With a new American President and Administration there is an opportunity to recalibrate or fine-tune US strategy for China to reflect today’s reality.
