The Wallowa Mountains are one of Oregon’s natural gems. Their beauty has attracted many well-known artists to live and work in the area for years.
In Joseph, Oregon, at the base of the Wallowas, there’s one artist whose work adorns not only the galleries but also the front doors of many homes and businesses. Steve Arment is a carver, painter and builder. His work might best be described as folk art. And people around town just can’t seem to get enough of it.
