In 1977 a group of teenage English Teddy Boys started a Rockabilly in London called Levi & The Rockats, in a short time they became well-loved and found a place in the UK punk scene. Levi and The Rockats came to the States in 1978 and played all legendary rock clubs to great success, even appearing on The Midnight Special & Mike Douglas shows. However, in 1980 Levi and The Rockats decided to split up with Levi Dexter going solo and moving back to London and The Rockats continuing as a band with guitarist Dibbs Preston moving over to Lead vocals & Smutty Smiff staying on bass. In 1981 they stole lead guitarist Danny B Harvey from Levi and soon after his addition signed with RCA. Their first album was produced by Mike Throne of Soft Cell & Wire fame in NYC. This album was as much 80’s rock as it was Rockabilly and over the next few years, the Rockats toured constantly, opening for Hall & Oates , The Clash , David Bowie, The Go-Gos, The Pretenders, Kiss, Thompson Twins etc etc. They also appeared on American Bandstand where they played this song and Make That Move. This was the lead-off track on their only RCA release “Make That Move” and actually received more airplay on major radio stations than any other song they ever released.
