A review and user experience of the PerfectDraft home beer dispensers.

OK, so as I near retirement and the prospects of a massive drop in income (well... OK... not THAT massive (I work for the NHS after all!), I am preparing for the inevitable cutbacks including the need to reduce the amount of 'going out outs!' that we currently enjoy.

I've always believed that quality of life is important and being able to enjoy what you like is a good measure of this so, as I'm rather partial to the odd (decent) beer or two and have seen the price of a humble pint sky-rocket over the past few years, I wanted to ensure that I could still afford one of my few vices which is why I went in search of alternatives to the pub experience (it kinda helped that I'd already 'converted' my garage into a 'man-cave' (complete with a couple of bar areas too!).

So, having taken a look at what's available, I settled upon getting a PerfectDraft machine (initially, the base model (the Black) but I also added a 'original' machine too (after all, variety IS the spice of life (besides, I tend to drink the strong beers (like Kwak or Delirium) whereas my wife prefers the weaker stuff) and I have been very happy with my purchase(s) too so, now that I've had them for a while, I wanted to share my experience with you.

Going forward, I am probably going to get a PerfectDraft Pro machine too to replace my aging (and soon to be obsolete (they're not going to be producing the kegs for much longer) Krups machine (also shown in the video) as this offers a few advantages (in the main; variable temperature control (these two machines both chill the kegs down to 3 degrees (which is OK in the main but I do find that, for some beers (such as London Pride) this is a little too cold (so I end up waiting in eager anticipation for it to 'warm up a bit'!).

I am also glad that we have a 'relatively local' (Nisa) store that stock an excellent selection of PD kegs too although you can order directly from the PerfectDraft website (they often have promos such as multi-buys or free merchandise too) or Amazon amongst others.

Of course, as a responsible adult (well, most of the time!) it would be remiss of me NOT to point out that drinking is known to have 'consequences' and that you should only drink in moderation but, sadly, I don't practice what I preach! :-)
