Gary Rossington Wanted the band to continue on and he chose Damon Johnson to be his successor. Damon is a great guy, It has ties with the members of Lynyrd Skynyrd going back to the early 90's. He joined the Damn Yankees at the very end of their Tenure, Recording an album that was never released in the process playing with Michael Cartellone. Back in the day his other band Brother Cane opened for Skynyrd also.
