Is Lorcana Too Gimmicky? | What Happened To Some Game Mechanics?

Alternate shift costs, Illusions with the Vanish ability, dual ink cards, locations? With the release of Fabled, a celebration set consisting mostly of reprinted cards, we couldn't help but notice the lack of certain card mechanics, and the slow fading mechanics including locations. In our recent episode, we discussed the topic of Lorcana being too gimmicky with temporary game mechanics that stick around for one or two sets then disappear.
