30 Minute Yoga Nidra Meditation - Releasing Negative Thoughts
The theme of this Yoga Nidra meditation is 'pratipaksha bhavana' which is a concept in Yoga and meditation designed to balance the negativity bias of the mind and cultivate a positive mindset. Negative thoughts, or self limiting thoughts, are something we all battle with because our mind is naturally biased towards negativity. Please bear in mind that we are not trying to stop negative thoughts - we're not trying to fight against what is. Instead we're working with what is in the mind, and using the mind as a tool, to get to a place of acceptance, integration and release.
This guided meditation will lead you into a state of non-sleep deep rest (NSDR), promoting deep relaxation and self-awareness, by using the classical Yoga Nidra system of meditation rooted in ancient tantric wisdom. Yoga Nidra is a dreamless state of deep sleep, a unique state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, where the mind and body are stilled but your awareness remains awake.
