* * Endless Black sand – Less is more * * *

Driving in the Highlands of Iceland is something special. You can see for miles with no interruptions.

The view is breathtaking and sometimes I feel like NASA comes to Iceland, records a video, and says it's from Mars or the Moon – and we believe it.

The black sand comes from lava that cooled down after hitting the cold Atlantic waters. Over time, the lava turned into small volcanic rocks, which eventually weathered into tiny pebbles, making up the black sand we see today.
