Some Stoke-on-Trent home buyers are having to borrow more than eight times their average salary in order to buy a house in the city.
An investigation from StokeonTrentLive found that home buyers in Newstead and Blurton South are having to borrow 7.9 times the areas average income in order to get onto the property ladder.
The analysis found the average salary for the area is £29,214 while the average house price, according to the Office of National Statistics is around £230,748.
