This short film has been over a year in the making. It’s my first “real” narrative short film. I’ve made several short film projects over the past few years as a film student in college, and it led up to me making a short documentary in Spring 2024 as my thesis film, and then writing and shooting this narrative short film independently in Fall 2024.

The film was inspired by vampire book series’ I loved as a kid. I wanted to create my own version where the girl contemplates on everything great she’s got going for her in her human life; and maybe she doesn’t need to run off to be a vampire for eternity. It was a metaphor for giving life another chance and trusting you'll find your place in the world eventually; maybe it was right there all along, and you just couldn't see it before.

Logline: A coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama with supernatural elements, following 18-year-old Valentina as she navigates love, friendship, and self-discovery on the night of her high school graduation party, confronting big choices and the messy intensity of growing up.
