I filmed waves at this location nine hours earlier. When the clouds rolled in looking so beautiful, I had to go back out to film the sunset. I returned to the same location at Pebble Beach in Split Rock Lighthouse State Park knowing I could get somewhat far enough out to film back towards the sunset—given that Minnesota was blocking a direct view of the sun.
In the clips with the far-away lighthouse, I sped up the video in order to more easily present the clouds rolling by. Staring at the scene, I wished for the clouds to be sped up but the water to ripple at its natural pace. I achieved the trick easily thanks to the stillness of everything but the clouds and water.
