My Latest Make - New Look 6581 - April 2022

This week I'm sharing another dressmaking project New Look 6581 in our beautiful Dashwood cotton jersey fabric. This is a sewing pattern I've made before and I'll talk you through how I worked on honing the fit using my trusty Palmer and Plestch Complete Guide to Fitting book (see links below) plus some nice sewing tips for the construction including a demo of how I sewed clear elastic into the neckline to prevent gaping. I absolutely love this dress and will wear it all year round. In the winter I can pair with thick black tights and boots, in Spring and Autumn with pumps and a jacket and in summer with sandals.
