That VW Bus T2 Westfalia had excessive play in the steering and its swing lever shaft. Changing the bushings with the axle in place is, without a proper tool, a difficult task. It is better to invest some time prior even starting and manufacture a proper tool on the lathe or mill. This will guaranty a much simpler way of successfully change those two bushings within the housing of the front axle. Avoid the hassle!!
