DESCRIPTION
This BoF aims to gather those exploring or developing dataspaces related to academic and commercial research data sharing so that they can explore shared interests, technical development challenges, and areas for future collaboration via the RDA given ongoing work via the IDSA, the DSCC, and ISO/IEC JTC related to the emerging Dataspace Protocol.

Attendees of this session will learn how data spaces compare to other types of data collaboratives, such as disciplinary research data commons, to better understand how the emerging Dataspace Protocol shifts institutions from data harvesting into common repositories to sovereign, direct managed data flows within a trusted cloud-based space capable of confidential multi-party computing during transit in the cloud.

3. Group discussion: challenges and opportunities faced to date
4. Group discussion: metadata elements or governance protocols that could benefit from standardization across such efforts operating across the research lifecycle
5. Group discussion: Interest in forming an RDA IG or WG to action next steps.
