Many products at Costco appear to be healthy, but upon closer inspection, they reveal hidden ingredients that are not ideal for a naturopathic doctor's recommendations. Some protein-rich foods seem promising due to their low fat content, but contain inflammatory wheat and soybean oil.
Similarly, popular hydration drinks may have good intentions, but include artificial sweeteners like sucralose and poorly absorbed forms of vitamins B12 (cyanocobalamin) and magnesium (magnesium citrate). Even seemingly healthy snacks like organic pumpkin seeds can be compromised by the addition of inflammatory oils like canola oil. Furthermore, nutrition bars that appear to be packed with fruit may actually contain high amounts of sugar, corn syrup, and vegetable oils.
