Planes Battle HEAVY WINDS in Amsterdam | CINEMA QUALITY Plane Spotting

VIDEO TLDR AND UPDATES

Well... here they are! The first of many spotting videos from my excursion across the pond. Amsterdam's Polderbaan (18R/36L) is the primary arrival runway for AMS Schiphol. It is used from 90% of the arrivals throughout the day while busier periods also see runway 18C and runway 27 in use.

While I was there, we saw extremely heavy winds (gusting in excess of 25 knots) but despite the challenging filming conditions, I still managed a total of 324 GB across 3 days of spotting.

Despite the number of aircraft I saw throughout my few days in Amsterdam, there's always that one airline that manages to evade me for the entire trip. In Los Angeles it was Virgin Atlantic, this time it was IndiGo's 787 Dreamliner which successfully managed a landing right before they closed runway 27 (I was near 18L), and a departure on runway 09 (I was at runway 24). Typical spotter activities 🫠

The Story of YVRgopher
YVRgopher originally started as a school math project in May, 2020. Over the course of the pandemic, plane spotting has become a passion and a hobby of mine. Each video I make is filmed and edited with excitement as well as dedication. My goal is to create a video that connects me with people who are like me and who have the same passion as I do.
