NRP 79 – Advancing 3R: Organoids – what about their legal status?

Organoids - very simply: so-called mini-organs that are grown in the laboratory from stem cells - open up countless new possibilities, for example for investigating diseases or carrying out toxicity tests. Because this field of research is rather young, the legal status of organoids in Switzerland is unclear. The team led by Alfred Früh from the University of Basel wants to clarify this.
