About the Shiv Mandir - This Shiv mandir is said to be around 125 years old when it was renovated & then on is being maintained. This Shiv mandir has a few point of mysteries & the point of attractions are
1. The idol Swaroop of Lord Shiva in the traditional form of Shivling, Kaal Bhairav, Shakti & Adishakti devi swaroop Kali, as well as many other Vigrah’s of deities like Hanuman, Shanidev.
2. The Neem Tree aged around 125 years old standing tall & healthy.
3. The live Dhuni or Havankund, which is continuously smoking & flaming since inception for more than hundreds of years, said to be the flame created by Guru Gorakhnath
4. Most important: The Samadhi’s of Gurudev’s & the fishes, The Sarovar & the revered very old & huge size fishes & the stories behind.
5. The stories & connections related to the temple as said by the Purohit / Panditji of the temple & the locals around about Kapil Muni & his temple under water, & there after connection to Kapil Muni’s meditation here & moving on to Ganga Sagar to become a Tirtha.
6. Puja & Festivals – Puja’s & religious anushthan are occasionally performed apart from this there are periodical local mela’s & festivals are conducted & celebrated
7. Construction & reconstruction continues to happen, since no of times the puja sthan are renovated or constructed develop cracks & tend to damage & needs reconstruction is a mystery.

Connectivity – By road - from VIP road to Teghoria near Baguihati PS, from Nager Bazar by Metro Rail stop at Dumdum & then by shared auto rickshaw. Caution: The roads are narrow lanes for travel by privately owned / hired car. Prefer pedal or e-rickshaw or auto.
