An absolutely amazing second day return trip from Balsam Lake Provincial Park, had everything you could want: fantastic gravel roads, sunshine, good lunch stop, and even a small amphibious grossing (yep!). Honestly the water crossing is totally doable in the summer; I would avoid it in spring. If you want to avoid it all together, you can see its location by geotagged photos on my Komoot route.
