You've seen those scary and intriguing antique permanent wave machines in antique shops, in basements or attics of Hollywood movies, or seen them in various hair salons and museums. But have you ever seen one actually being used? In this video you'll see exactly how perms were done using these original permanent wave machines from the 1920s and the 1930s. Some perm machines were still in use in the 1940s and 1950s!
The antique salon permanent wave machine used in this video is the Gabrieleen Silver Queen.
The felt pads in this video are incorrect. The rubber should be touching the units, not the felt. The felt should be on the patron's head...not touching the units.
