Ethereal encounter with a Fried Egg Jellyfish | Relaxing Underwater Ambient Sound | 4K | GoPro 8

The fried egg jellyfish (Cotylorhiza Tuberculata) has a golden yellow circle on the center of its dome and the surrounding part has a whitish opaque coloring. It literally looks like a cracked egg floating in the sea when viewed from above. It is also called the Mediterranean jellyfish or egg yolk jellyfish. It can grow to be around 40 cm (16 inches) wide in diameter. This specific one was pretty close to 30 cm i would say. Its sting is very mild and you'll probably won't feel anything if you happened to get hungry and touched one. Unlike most jellyfish, the fried egg jellyfish can swim on its own, it doesn't rely on the currents for movement. Seeing one swimming is a true ethereal experience, watch as the jellyfish moves and pulsates, creating a hypnotic dance.
