EAM S.Jaishankar Unveils India's 'New Normal' Against Terror | Lok Sabha Speech | India Today

EAM S Jaishankar has detailed its response to the Pahalgam attack, outlining diplomatic and military actions. Following the attack, a Cabinet Committee of Security meeting on April 23rd led to the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 being held in abeyance. On May 7th, 'Operation Sindoor' was launched, targeting nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. India's diplomatic efforts secured a UN Security Council statement which “underlined the need to hold the perpetrators Organizers, financiers and sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism, accountable and bring them to justice.” The government also articulated a new five-point policy on cross-border terrorism, stating terror and talks cannot coexist, and it will not yield to nuclear blackmail.
