Sudan War: Over 120 killed in attack by paramilitary RSF on civilians in Gezira state

In central Sudan's Gezira state, recent attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on al-Sireha village have left over 120 people dead, with footage showing fighters rounding up civilians and dead bodies prepared for burial. The RSF’s aggression follows the defection of a key RSF commander, Abu Aqla Keikal, to the Sudanese army. Other nearby villages have also suffered raids, displacing thousands, with reports of nearly 40 women raped. These villages, previously safe zones, are now nearly empty as the UN calls for an end to the violence. The RSF continues to target civilians far from the frontlines.
The group has been fighting the Sudanese army, and attacking villages for more than 18 months.
