Early Morning Magic & Madness at Uluwatu

At 5:30 AM, I arrived at Uluwatu for a surf guiding session. The waves were clean, the sunrise was magical, and only around 20 surfers were in the lineup — pure Bali bliss.

We scored some solid waves in a peaceful atmosphere... but then Bali changed in an instant.

By 7:00 AM, the lineup turned into a sea of people — hundreds of surfers paddling out. From calm to chaos, this session showed the two faces of surfing in Bali: the magic and the madness.
