Standing at 3,152 meters (10,341 feet), this mountain is one of Colombia's most iconic landmarks. And yes… I hiked all the way to the top.

The trail was steep, challenging, and absolutely breathtaking.

It took me nearly two hours, step by step, climbing through mist and mountains, and through moments of pure exhaustion. But reaching the summit? It felt like stepping into another world.

Up here, there's a beautiful 17th-century church, a shrine to El Señor Caído, and a panoramic view of Bogotá that stretches endlessly across the mountains.

I even had the chance to sit in on a Sunday service — a peaceful, spiritual moment I'll never forget.

Join me as I climb one of Colombia's most iconic landmarks — Cerro Monserrate.
This 2-hour hike took me up more than 10,000 feet above the capital city of Bogotá, through misty mountain trails, breathtaking viewpoints, and finally to a 17th-century church at the summit.

At the top, I explored the shrine of El Señor Caído, enjoyed panoramic views of Bogotá, and even sat in on a Sunday service. This was one of the most powerful and beautiful experiences of my entire Colombia journey.
