Celebrating 25 Years of Dance DC at Eaton Elementary School

Every year since 2000, students at Eaton Elementary School have gotten the opportunity to explore dance through The Washington Ballet's Dance DC program. In 2025, second-grade students went on a Wonderland-themed adventure led by teaching artist Madeline Garland while learning choreography from TWB's April production of ALICE (in wonderland) at Capital One Hall.

Dance DC is an arts integration program that provides in-school workshops and residencies for Pre-K through 12th grades, aiming to enhance students’ academic achievement through creative movement and dance. Guided by the National Core Arts Standards for Dance, the program integrates core subjects such as reading & literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical education. Each residency introduces students to the cultural history, music, and fundamental movements of the selected dance genre.
