Refrigerator Safeguard Over/Trip Error Repair
When a refrigerator safeguard continuously shows an Over/Trip error, it indicates a voltage irregularity. Below is the procedure to troubleshoot and resolve the issue effectively:
#1. Inspect and Replace Presets:
Locate the inner and outer presets in the safeguard circuit.
Use a meter to measure the resistance of the presets (e.g., 10KOhm).
Replace any defective presets with new ones, ensuring they match the circuit's specifications.
#2. Calibrate Under Voltage (UV) Settings:
Connect the safeguard to a step-up & step-down transformer.
Lower the voltage to below 175V. The safeguard should display red lights (Under and Trip).
Adjust the inner preset until the safeguard transitions to green (Normal) and yellow (Delay) lights at 180V.
#3. Calibrate Over Voltage (OV) Settings:
Increase the voltage above 240V.
Adjust the outer preset to ensure the safeguard cuts off power (red lights for Over and Trip) at approximately 245-250V.
#4. Verify the Settings:
Test the safeguard by increasing and reducing voltage levels. Ensure proper response for over/under voltage scenarios.
At 230V, the safeguard should return to green (Normal) mode.
Following these steps ensures the safeguard functions reliably, protecting the refrigerator from voltage fluctuations
