VW Passat B8 Analogue to Digital Dashboard Using AVDI and ABRITES RH850/V850 Programmer

First, remove the original analogue dashboard from the car and connect it to the RH850/V850 Programmer, by soldering the CB501 wires to its PCB (after removing a few capacitors). All instructions for this are in the software under the Wiring button once you select the dashboard from the software menu. Follow them closely. Once you read the immo data from the analogue dashboard, SAVE it to a file! It is a crucial step of the process. The data is saved in a .json file containing plain text immo data.

After you read the data, get the digital dashboard and connect it to the RH850/V850 Programmer. Remove the required capacitors and solder the wires in their places, as the software instructs you to. Now you can move on to transferring the immo data from the original dashboard to the new one by loading the .json file. It is a very easy and user-friendly procedure, simply press the LOAD button and choose the .json file. Then, press the Write button, to write the transferred immo data to the new dashboard.

When you have transferred and written the immo data to the new dashboard, get to the car with your AVDI and laptop. Install the new digital dashboard in it. Then you will see that the remote is working, but you cannot start the car with the keys you have. Since the dashboard is replaced, the keys need to be relearned to the vehicle.

The final step is key programming.
At this step, you need to go to the Key Learning menu in the ABRITES Diagnostics for VAG, under Special Functions. Start a Key learning by CS procedure. Open the .json file with the immo data from the original dashboard and copy the CS. Paste it in the software and select the number of keys you want to program. This Passat has two keys, so I want to relearn both of them. Press Learn keys and get the keys close to the antenna (located on the right side of the steering wheel column in this case) one by one, turning ignition on with each of them. And that's all! The digital dashboard is installed and adapted together with both keys working!
