Experimenting with a Makita DCH487 cordless drill to see if the hammer mode can be disabled.
This is a common problem for a lot of combi drills, not just Makita. But a more difficult one to repair on a makita, as they do not supply any parts for thier gearboxes.
Luckily you can remove the hammer gear to stop the hammer action and just make it a drill driver.
