Looking to store your pressure washer for the winter? Here’s what you’ll need to do to ensure that it doesn’t suffer from any wear and tear. Following these steps will ensure easy start-up when taken of storage, greatly extending the life of your pressure washer.
Here’s what you’ll need for this job:
1. BE Pump Saver (can be purchased at any dealer selling BE products).
2. A 10mm wrench.
3. A fuel tray or Jerrycan to catch any fuel left in the unit.
4. A towel to clean up any excess Pump Saver.
To drain the fuel, unscrew the drain bolt located on the side of the carburetor. Ensure that you have a fuel tray beneath it to catch any excess. If there is a large amount of fuel within the unit, you may want to use a Jerrycan to catch it and store it. We recommend that fuel stabilizer is used in the Jerrycan to ensure that it stays fresh over time. Once the fuel has been drained, it’s time to move on to the pump.
First, remove the travel cap and foil seal from the Pump Saver bottle. From here, screw the bottle into the inlet of the pump and open the ball valve. Ensure that the On/Off switch is in the “off” position and start pulling on the recoil starter. You will begin to see Pump Saver coming out of the outlet. Pull on the recoil until you see nothing but Pump Saver coming out of the pump. This usually takes about 10 to 15 pulls. Once done, simply close the ball valve and unscrew the bottle. You may have a puddle of Pump Saver to clean up when done, but other than that, your pressure washer is ready to be stored.
